Background..I left school at the end of 6th form to go north and work for Lance Noble,only lasted about 3 months there as i got a bit home sick.

On returning to Masterton i went to Little Avondale Stud for six months but i was missing the racing so left there and shortly afterwards started for Jim Wallace in his racing stables.Spend around four and a half years both in the racing stable and at the stud preparing yearling.Was finding myself at the stud more and more so decided i would have a go at training a few myself.
I already had my owner-trainers licence as i had purchased a tried mare when at Little Avondale and worked her at home in a paddock in the evenings after work,she managed to win her third start for me. I continued to have one in work while working with Jimmy but never had anything any good.
So after leaving Ardsley i had a couple in work and found a day job to help pay for them.
Couple of years on my partner has our second child so i pull out the old i'll stay at home with the kids and she can go back to work, i can do the horses in the morning before she starts and then feed up in the afternoon. So basically thats about where we are at at this stage. The numbers slowly creeping up so lucky both our parents live on the way to either the track or to the travel shop(partners shop).

Stable..Currently have six to eight in work,based at the Opaki training track.Rent boxes and paddocks off the club,quiet little training centre and very lucky to have the use of a course proper at any time as we don't have races or trials anymore.

Future plans.. Increase the stable numbers,i don't want to rush up to big numbers as i want to keep close eye on every little detail and make sure the horses i do have are done properly.

 

My training  is based on the belief that my horses needs are of the utmost importance. I am committed to meeting those needs.
